Back in my apartment dwelling days, I made a set of six birds-on-a-wire mounted images using creative commons photography, black foam core, and my landlord’s miter saw. They have been hanging out on a too-big wall in the office since we moved in.

I decided to relocate them to greener pastures. Mike and I agreed they would look good in the master bedroom, but there didn’t seem to be a wall that was the right proportion. That is, until I jokingly placed one in the dog closet. “That looks awesome,” Mike said. Who can argue with awesome?
I am so glad we made the decision to take the door off this closet and make it into canine living space. Paired with the dog trundle, it keeps our bedroom free and clear of highly-trippable dog beds. The canvas bins allow us to store our linens in plain sight, while injecting a little natural color into the room.
Do you love birds on a wire too? Do you keep your dog in a (door-less) closet?
