House Bella is a big part of my life. When I started the blog, over two years ago, I was a new homeowner drunk with the excitement of having my own space to paint, design, and form the way I wished. Mike and I dove in with projects and plans enough to fill as many hours as we’d like.

We’ve tackled tasks big and small, and I’ve blogged about the vast majority of them here on House Bella. It’s been a pleasure to do so. Interacting with you, my blog readers, is one of the highlights of this DIY world I’ve created.

Over the past few months I’ve started to feel the constraints, and the pressures, of maintaining a blog that is solely based on one part of my life – my home. There’s so much more to me. Books, music, travel, food, art…these are all parts of my life that I sometimes sweep under the rug to make time for the house.

But a new year is time for new beginnings, and I’ll be doing just that. I’m not abandoning House Bella – not in the slightest. You will still find posts on my home and the DIY projects we will continue to undertake. But you’ll also find book recommendations, snippets of my life in a mountain town, and things that are catching my eye. You may see bits of my photography – a passion I’ve had for over a decade – or an album I can’t stop listening to. Some posts will be long, as you’re used to seeing, and some will be brief. The horizon will expand, but I hope these glimpses into my life will somehow enrich yours, as so many of your blogs do for me.

It’s my sincere hope that you’ll stick with me in this time of transition. This online diary, this blog world I’ve been blessed to curate, is only special to me because you are in it. Best wishes for 2013. Let’s show this year what living really means.
