For Christmas, Mike surprised me with a tin of peppermint tea from Harney & Sons. I am a serious tea lover, and Harney & Sons makes some damn good tea. They are located near our old stomping grounds in western Massachusetts.

This peppermint tea is potent enough to clear you sinuses as soon as the lid is popped. It comes in beautiful tea sachets, which makes drinking a cup seem like a special occasion.

And saving it for a special occasion was my first reaction. The smell, the taste, the presentation…it’s all too good for my boring old cup of tea at night.
Mike shut down this line of thinking immediately. Why, he asked, would I not want to enjoy it? Is a typical day not special enough to enjoy a beautiful cup of tea in the company of my husband and dogs?
D’oh. He’s so right. There’s more Harney & Sons tea in the world. Today is precious enough, and beautiful enough, to celebrate. Don’t you think?

I love their teas. I did a presentation for Berkshire School’s 75th anniversary, and they had their own tea blend made at Harney & Sons and they gave me a tin as a thank you. Swanky!

I don’t think I’ve tried their tea yet, but I love Peppermint tea. Also, Mike makes a very good point!

I think their distribution is pretty narrow. Mike mail ordered this for me. What a good husband.

I do that all the time! I save things for the OMG MOST PERFECT occasion and then end up not using them.
Do you keep the tins? I probably would… I can see them being a cute place for a tiny plant.

I hadn’t thought about keeping the tin, but it would look awesome with a succulent, you’re right!
