Like most folks, I sometimes have a hard time shutting off my brain in order to get to sleep at night. I power down all my devices about an hour before bed and open a book. Most times that’s enough to sweep me into sleep, but sometimes after lights out my brain stays working.
Enter an amazing podcast: Stories From The Borders of Sleep by Seymour Jacklin.
Seymour writes perfect stories for that magical time between awake and asleep. That time when your mind will take you almost anywhere, in a dreamy, cloud-like haze. Seymour’s stories are the perfect combination of being mystical enough to bring you to sleep but detailed enough to make you feel like you’re floating along with them. Even though they are short – between 8 and 18 minutes apiece – I have yet to get through an entire one before falling asleep. I’ve been listening to the same story for almost a week, and still haven’t gotten to the end!
Sounds crazy, right? Give one a try. See what you think (and then let me know!).
P/S: Here’s a little more about the author!
